I found this rather amusing fake MTA service advisory hanging 'round the interwebs a few months back:

It never fails to make me chuckle because even though we have one of the best mass transit systems in the world, it is still such a deeply flawed system. And it's better to laugh about it than get angry :)

And yet, despite the fact that most would probably consider these a venti-sized fashion faux pas, I love that you can get away with wearing whatever the hell you want in New York. It's part of the charm.

Pool Hall Birthday

How well my husband and my brother get along!

This picture was taken at a pool hall where I organized a surprise party for my husband's 25th birthday this past weekend. We had a great time and it was cheap by Manhattan standards -- $17 an hour per table to play -- not to mention, had kick-ass Empire State Building views and wasn't crowded, another luxury in Manhattan.
