MTA Service Advisory:

I found this rather amusing fake MTA service advisory hanging 'round the interwebs a few months back:

It never fails to make me chuckle because even though we have one of the best mass transit systems in the world, it is still such a deeply flawed system. And it's better to laugh about it than get angry :)

What makes you laugh at its absurdity, rather than get angry?

Holy Tights

There are bright, summery tights, and then there are these:

And yet, despite the fact that most would probably consider these a venti-sized fashion faux pas, I love that you can get away with wearing whatever the hell you want in New York. It's part of the charm.

P.S. Like the new signature?

Pool Hall Birthday

Things that make me happy:

How well my husband and my brother get along!

This picture was taken at a pool hall where I organized a surprise party for my husband's 25th birthday this past weekend. We had a great time and it was cheap by Manhattan standards -- $17 an hour per table to play -- not to mention, had kick-ass Empire State Building views and wasn't crowded, another luxury in Manhattan.

If you're looking for places in Midtown with a chill vibe where you can play pool, check out Space Billiard Cafe in Koreatown at 34 W 32nd, 12th Floor.

You Might Be a Manhattanite If... [Part II]

1. You can plan and time your walk between any two points in Manhattan without ever having to stop and wait at a light. Ever.
2. You think a $6 cocktail is a steal.
3. You can't remember the last time you rode around in a car without having to pay for the privilege.
4. You believe that people who use golf-sized umbrellas are selfish, sidewalk-hogging human beings.
5. Spotting a celebrity does not make your day. In fact, it probably just slowed you down.
